Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange Definition
The Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) is a stock exchange in Tel-Aviv, Israel.
The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange was incorporated and began operations in 1953. In 1983 it moved to its current location in Ahad Ha'am street in Tel-Aviv.
As of 2003, the TASE is Israel's only stock exchange. It lists more than 650 companies, about 20 of which are also listed on stock exchanges in other countries (mostly on the NASDAQ and the NYSE). Daily turnover of shares and convertibles in 2003 was 80 million USD.
