Roth IRA Conversion Definition
Roth IRA Conversion means that funds in a traditional individual retirement account can be converted into a special retirement account called Roth IRA. There is no tax deduction for making a contribution to a Roth IRA, but the contributions grow without taxes and no tax needs to be paid upon withdrawal in retirement. Moreover, Roth IRAs aren't subject to minimum distribution requirements that traditional IRAs are, so withdrawals do not have to be started at age 70½.
