Individual Retirement Plan Bonds Definition
Nontransferable accrual-type U.S. savings securities sold to individuals eligible to participate in an Individual Retirement Arrangement (IRA). These bonds were first issued in January 1975 after enactment of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 ("ERISA"). The sale of these bonds was terminated April 30, 1982.
