General Order Definition
General Order – GO means the customs requirement that imported goods not cleared within a specific number of days have to be taken into custody of customs. Goods may be held under general order if the duties are not paid or some documentation is missing. Merchandise will be held under general order if they remain uncleared for more than 15 days. If the goods stay under general order for more than six months, they may be confiscated by the government.
